The School of Engineering in Dubai started in 2012 and offers the undergraduate engineering majors of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer and Autonomous Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and recently the Mechatronics Engineering major.

The school operates as one unit with Program Leaders in Mechanical, Civil and Electrical Engineering leading the Majors. The Year 1 is common to all engineering students, and a number of higher-level subjects are also shared. As such there is a high level of collaboration both in teaching and in research. The Mechatronics Engineering major sits within the Mechanical Engineering Program leader but nearly half the subjects of the courses are from the Electrical discipline. One can refer to more details about the two programs below:

The School of Engineering is seeking a talented and dynamic Instructor to join us for the Spring trimester in April 2025.

The successful candidate will primarily support the tutoring of students in the subjects of the Bachelor of Engineering degree in the majors of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering. The candidate is expected to be involved in the following:

• Delivering Mechanical/Mechatronic subject tutorials

• Supervising Mechanical/Mechatronic laboratories and workshops

• Assisting students on projects, particularly hardware/software advice

• Assisting with student assessment and grading, if required by subject coordinator

• Assisting with open days, career days, school outreach and other activities related to the promotions of the engineering degree.

• Take an active role in the development of the School of Engineering laboratories

To qualify for the above role, candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Master’s degree in engineering from a recognised international University

• Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Teaching experience at an internationally recognized institution

• Fluency in English language (both spoken and written)
