Nearly 4,500 students representing almost 120 nationalities are studying at UOWD, in a variety of Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs offered by the Faculty of Business and Faculty of Engineering & Information Sciences – and in university preparation courses. Through these programs, and a variety of professional training courses, UOWD is a major contributor to the development of human capital in the UAE and the broader region.

The high quality of UOWD's degree programs is maintained through close connections with the University of Wollongong. Staff at the University of Wollongong carry out rigorous and frequent quality assurance testing of UOWD degree programs and individual subjects. These QA processes are examined every five years by the Australian Universities Quality Agency, in addition to the regular reviews required by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation.
The University's academic staff have extensive teaching, business and industry experience. They bring years of knowledge gained from research in their respective fields into the classroom, thus providing students with a stimulating academic environment.

The academic staff are also active in research, publishing in professional journals and presenting their research at international conferences. A feature of UOWD's research activity is close collaborations with government agencies and industry partners, and the university has established the 'UOWD Case Centre' for researching and publishing business cases relevant to the region.

Since its inception, the University of Wollongong in Dubai has built a reputation for quality, credibility and integrity, and is held in high esteem by its students, alumni, business, industry and government. It maintains a long and proud tradition of excellence in education combined with liberal values of enquiry. It continuously strives to provide a fertile environment for bright young minds to flourish, where critical thinking is both encouraged and nurtured. These are the qualities that characterise great institutes of learning.
