The School of Engineering in Dubai started in 2012 and offers the undergraduate engineering majors of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer and Autonomous Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and recently the Mechatronics Engineering major. The School also offers the highly successful Masters in Engineering Management. The School has nine brand new laboratories with state-of-the-art equipment to support the engineering majors.

The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) offers a comprehensive grounding in management thinking tailored for the engineering and manufacturing sectors, ideal for those aspiring to managerial roles. The program emphasizes the development of creative, analytical, and conceptual skills, empowering students to make strategic judgments across all engineering functions. Graduates will be equipped to collaborate across various disciplines including finance, human resources, and marketing. The School of Engineering is seeking a qualified and motivated Adjunct Lecturer in Engineering Management / Finance to join in April 2025. The successful candidate will deliver lectures for the post graduate program of Engineering Management for the subject Financial Management for Engineered Assets.

The ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience teaching/tutoring financial management principles and related topics for engineering assets. The candidate is expected to work in accordance with the course curriculum and teaching plans, as well as take attendance and be involved in marking.

• Offer consultation times to students outside of classroom hours

• Liaise with subject coordinator before, during and at the end of the semester session

• Complete grading of student work in a timely fashion, using clear rubrics, and with constructive feedback-

• Input the grades into the student interface software (SMP), and complete subject report for the end of semester (training will be provided)- 

• Manage the acquisition of necessary supplies

• Experience in using innovative approaches to teaching is also desirable. 

Essential:

• PhD in Accounting & Finance (Corporate Finance, Managerial Accounting and Financial Accounting) or PhD in Engineering Management

• Relevant industry experience in senior leadership

The University offers adjunct lecturers at postgraduate level a compensation of AED 15,000/- per semester. This covers teaching, grading and providing subject consultation for students.
