VAC9570 - Senior Manager, Power BI & Workflow Automation

Role Overview:

Power BI is a powerful tool for visualizing and analysing data, but manual data handling processes can be time-consuming and error prone. Automation of workflows within Power BI can help organizations leverage their data more effectively and efficiently.

The purpose of the role is to:

  • Streamline and automate data workflows within Power BI (or any other relevant tool) to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and analytics

  • Automate manual processes, so that the organization can save time, reduce errors, and move further towards operational efficiency.

Core Responsibilities:

Power BI Responsibilities

  • Master the inhouse Power Bi platform (Ooredoo BiWorld) with its complexity and legacy.

  • Recognize business requirements in the context of BI and create data models to transform raw data into relevant insights.

  • Using Power BI, create dashboards and interactive visual reports.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) with specific objectives and track them regularly.

  • Analyze data and display it in reports to aid decision-making.

  • Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion.

  • Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, as well as execute efficient deep analysis.

  • Use Power BI to run DAX queries and functions.

  • Create charts and data documentation with explanations of algorithms, parameters, models, and relationships.

  • Analyze current ETL procedures to define and create new systems.

  • Able to perform UAT and work with business.

  • Will liaise with Security team to ensure all practices are following Ooredoo security governance.

  • Will act as a technical trouble shooter liaising with relevant entities to resolve issues related to Power BI (Microsoft Azure, or other related environments).

  • Maintain and create documents on PBI practices, architecture, workspaces, procedures, security, access,… to ensure Power BI business continuity and knowledge management.

  • Improve current practices and follow Ooredoo data governance guidelines.

  • Will align with rest of Performance Management team on KPIs definitions.

 Workflow Automation Responsibilities

  • Implement workflow automation solutions identified by management, to bring operational efficiency using PowerApps, Power Automate, and/or any relevant tools.

  • Will act as a technical trouble shooter liaising with relevant entities to resolve issues related to Workflow Automation (Microsoft Azure, or other related environments).

Other

  • Maintain documentation on relevant Operational Excellence processes.

  • Support management on AI initiatives.

  • Manage alongside the rest of the team.

  • For a better understanding of the data, use filters and visualizations

Qualification and Experience:
  • Minimum 10-years’ experience with Power BI Platform development

  • Experience in data base management, data preparation and data warehousing projects.

  • Experience in Microsoft BI stack with Power BI

  • Experience in working with Power BI

  • Savviness with scripting and programming

  • Knowledge of SQL server

  • Mandatory previous experience in telco to understand business KPIs.

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Azure, Power Automate, PowerApps, (any additional tool promoting report and workflow automation)

  • Knowledge and experience with AI (in application to reporting and workflow automation)

  • AI experience related to reporting/Power BI and workflow automation

Core Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science or information systems technology

  • Knowledge of relevant software skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Wave)
