The Project Director, AI Technology, will lead and oversee all aspects of AI technology projects within the organization and support the design and deployment of technology, solutions and data center infrastructure in new and existing data center facilities. This role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of AI and machine learning, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to drive innovation. The Project Director will be responsible for strategizing, planning, and executing AI initiatives that align with the company’s objectives and enhance its competitive edge.
Strategic Planning & Leadership:
Develop and implement AI project strategies aligned with the organization’s goals.
Provide insights, inputs and take ownership of the design of AI enabled solutions
Provide leadership and direction to the AI project team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for AI integration and development.
Project Management:
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of AI projects, from conception to deployment and operations.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop detailed project plans, allocate resources, and manage project risks.
Technical Oversight:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI solutions including GPUs, associated hardware and software layers to offer GPU and AI compute as a service
Ensure the technical feasibility and robustness of AI solutions.
Work with members of the team to ensure data center critical infrastructure to support the proposed solutions and in place, planned and schedule into a project deliverable
Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies and incorporate them into projects.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Act as the primary point of contact for AI project stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners.
Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
Gather and incorporate feedback to continuously improve AI initiatives.
Escalate “early and often” as required highlighting critical path items or critical project impacting issues to preserve project timelines and drive project success
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish metrics to evaluate the success and impact of AI projects.
Manage project performance and implement improvements as needed.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on project status, outcomes, and future plans to senior management.
Compliance and Ethics:
Ensure all AI projects comply with relevant regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.
Promote the ethical use of AI.
Use world best practise project management techniques applying leading PMO standards
Education:
Bachelor or Master’s in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience leading complex projects related to IT infrastructure delivery and AI/LLM services , with at least 5 years in a project management role. Proven track record of successfully leading AI projects from inception to completion.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in AI and machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.
Strong understanding of data analysis, statistical modelling, and data engineering.
End to end experience with data center infrastructure including the AI specific HW and SW required to deploy and operate those services
Experience with Nvidia specific products and solutions would be beneficial
Project Management Skills:
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
