Role Overview:

Ooredoo Group Strategic Sourcing is responsible for developing and implementing a sourcing strategy aligned with Ooredoo group strategy (growth, financial, brand etc.) and which matches the needs of the group OpCo’s in their respective markets

Its scope is coordinating sourcing activities and negotiating best terms with suppliers on major spend categories for Ooredoo Group through managing suppliers centrally, where possible to ensure a ‘one voice’ strategy is communicated and to drive performance measures across all categories sourcing to be implemented. 

This role supports that aim through undertaking required analysis and information management support for IT Security projects to maximize the savings potential of sourcing initiatives.

The core purpose of this role is to Lead Group category for IT Security. Lead key transformational sourcing programmes and execute delivery against Ooredoo’s key strategies whilst delivering significant savings.

Support the implementation of Group Strategies across all OpCos, Identification and Creation Sourcing initiatives for presentation to C level consideration.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategy definition and communication:

  • Manage the IT Security categories, developing and executing centre-led sourcing strategies and coordinating locally-led sourcing activities to execute with Digital transformation initiatives.

  • Interact meaningfully and with purpose with Group CxOs and OpCo leadership teams to define the IT Security categories sourcing roadmap for implementation of category sourcing initiatives.

  • Manage the internal and external categories profiling (i.e., spend analysis, demand analysis, supply market analysis) and identification of potential levers to lower total cost.

  • Manage the IT Security sourcing projects and partnerships with B2B vendors/ partners, at the Group & OpCos level to optimize cost and drive operational efficiencies in the OpCos

  • Support the IT Sourcing Senior Director in defining category specific sourcing policies and procedures (e.g., single sourcing, supplier panels, etc.)

  • Build strong collaborative networks and communicates with internal Group stakeholders and relevant OpCo stakeholders to ensure alignment on the category sourcing strategies

 Tendering, negotiation and contract management:

  • Manage IT Security categories’ sourcing activities, driving change, challenging the status quo whilst supervising centre-led and locally-led sourcing teams

  • Manage competitive tendering strategic approach, Leadership of RFx processes within categories, evaluation of submissions and selection of IT Security suppliers/vendors on behalf of Group Opcos, leveraging the consolidated buying power of the Group.

  • Manage the development, negotiation and implementation of Group Sourcing Contracts (GSCs) and any amendments thereof.

  • Conduct effective change management with stakeholders post-implementation to realize value from initiatives

  • Effective communication of results and recommendation at Group C level and across Opco leadership team.

Supplier relationship management (SRM):

  • Develop of suppliers' KPIs and scorecard and manages the collection of supplier performance data

  • Manage relationships with suppliers to drive improvements in supplier performance and conducts regular supplier reviews

Performance reporting and compliance:

  • Develop measurable category objectives and targets, and produces regular reports

  • Promote compliance across Ooredoo Group on GSCs and Group policies, processes and procedures

People management:

  • Supervise Group Sourcing Buyers and local sourcing teams on category sourcing activities, provide guidance and support, monitor and prioritize workload.

Qualification and Experience:
  • Minimum 12 years relevant strategic sourcing or category management experience, of which 5 years should be in Group Telco

  • Proven experience of leadership and delivering results, business change and transformation across IT categories and implementing innovative sourcing strategies within a multifunctional, Group role.

  • Ability to demonstrate expertise and versatile techniques in managing and negotiating with suppliers in relevant supplier markets within Telecommunications.

  • Experience in data analysis and cost modelling is preferred.

  • Experience in MENA is preferred.

  • Fluent in English (both written and verbal).

  • Written/oral fluency in French/Arabic languages is preferred but not mandatory.

Core Competencies:
  • Minimum bachelor degree qualification, preferably in IT discipline

  • Preferably certified by a relevant professional body (e.g., CIPS, CPM) or qualified with a relevant Master’s degree (e.g., Supply Management).
