VAC8526 - Engineer, Unified Communications / Fast Telco Subsidiary of Ooredoo Kuwait

Role Purpose:
  • Responsible for Implementation, Operation, Maintenance and Support of Fixed Voice Core and Access Network elements.

  • Ensure the service deliverables to the customers is provided as per agreed SLA. Supporting the expansion, upgrades, project to launch new services.

  • Quality assurance for all Fixed Voice services - Core and Access levels
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for Alarm Management, Fault Management, and Configuration Management as per the agreed SLA.

  • Ensures proper monitoring and reporting of voice Core network elements as part of preventive maintenance task.

  • Responsible for daily health check, fault reports, scheduled backups & comply with security guidelines.

  • Responsible to mitigate customer complaints as per SLA and make sure that corrective actions are taken

  • Provide detailed analysis and reports of voice core network performance, fault reports and service availability as and when required.

  • In Depth understanding of systems capabilities (Core and access), hands on experience with best practices and technologies that fulfil customer needs.

  • Creation of best-practice guidelines and documentation Fixed Voice Core Network.

  • Responsible for implementation and support of voice data (Voice VLAN) converged network

  • Responsible for DIDs management

  • Provide non business hours on-call support for troubleshooting on rotational basis

  • Responsible to work on weekend/non-working hours to perform maintenance, upgrades.

  • Communicate with Vendor for Support / Modification requests and raise TTs

  • Provide technical support and ensure systems are stable and performing within respective agree Service Level Agreements.

  • Design and implement new UC/PBX infrastructure, as well as provide monitoring, capacity planning to customer of the existing estate.

  • Evaluate & apply any necessary security patches, hotfixes, service packs & hardware updates.

  • Work with peers of the UC/PBX team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues.

  • Working with vendor support where necessary. 

  • Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.

  • Proactively, able to work independently, possesses creative problem solving skills and able to work in a dynamic and challenging environment

  • Perform other duties as directed by Head or other superiors.
  • Bachelor degree in Telecommunication/ Computer/ Electronics Engineering or related discipline and appropriate registration with a recognised professional institute.

  • Degree shall be dully approved by Kuwait Society of Engineers

Other Information:
  • experience in ISP Voice Core and access  engineering including Project Management experience

  • Required experience with ISP/Telecommunication network

  • Good knowledge of ISP, GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G technologies

  • Good Knowledge in Security and IP concept

  • Good working knowledge on Windows applications (e.g. MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project etc.)

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic would be an advantage

  • Strong Technical & Analytical skills
  • Quick learner and self-starter, with a willingness to be abreast with the latest technologies to be successful
  • Project Management skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and presentation skills with the ability to elaborate complex technologies to peers and management
  • Strong knowledge of working with multivendor
