Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to contribute to the digital output in the execution of the PR and communications strategy for IsDB to enhance its visibility, and stakeholder engagement. The role supports the creation of high-quality external communications content. It requires raising awareness with media organizations, building editorial relationships, and managing media activities, including press conferences and leadership visits. Provide reactive support for media inquiries and crisis communications. Secure extensive media coverage and share PR and communications best practices with colleagues. Stay updated on industry trends and implement them within IsDB.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contribute to the PR and communications strategy for IsDB to raise awareness about the organization in the regional markets and to engage key stakeholders.

  • Support the creation of consistently high-quality digital content for IsDB’s external communications through the website and social channels, adapting to and localizing the central messaging.

  • Liaise closely with various Business Units at the IsDB HQ to create content and ensure its dissemination across relevant platforms.

  • Raise awareness about IsDB’s presence in regional and membership country media.

  • Create compelling and persuasive digital content across various platforms and channels.

  • Ensure consistent copywriting of content in a concise, consistent manner

  • Create digital newsletters targeting external audiences on the developmental impact of IsDB projects and programs.

  • Manage social accounts and ensure efficient management of content, digital community engagement and analytics reporting.

  • Design and implement digital communication campaigns to promote and increase the visibility of IsDB projects in member countries.

  • Perform such functions as brand monitoring, media mentions and ensure compliance with the Bank’s risk management and other regulatory policies.

  • Work with the website team to optimize content through Search Engine Optimization.

  • Provide support with press conferences and other on-the-ground activity as required, for example around visits by the President and IsDB leadership.

  • Organize digital media parleys, press conferences, webinars etc.

  • Design robust digital communication plans for IsDB Annual Meetings and other major external campaigns.

  • Liaise with IsDB Group entities to general content on the Group’s interventions in the private sector, trade finance, Islamic insurance, Islamic finance, poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, etc.

  • Provide proactive support for IsDB management through social media in headquarters and regional hubs.

  • Work collaboratively with the outreach team to address issues such as crisis communications.

  • Securing extensive on-message coverage, by supporting external tours, placing opinion pieces, news stories and feature articles around IsDB’s key activities in regional markets.

  • Share knowledge on the latest trends in digital PR and Communications management with colleagues in the Communications Division, IsDB and wider community.

  • Utilize evolving technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve digital content and develop guidelines, processes and procedures on the utilization of AI in the digital communications of IsDB.

  • Keep abreast with the latest and best practices in the areas of digital PR and Communications management and implement the same in IsDB.

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Journalism, Communications or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a communications role for a global organization.

Skills & Necessary Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of communications landscape in their region.

  • Ability to work remotely to manage and co-ordinate regional activities.

  • Outstanding communications skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Awareness of the regional landscape and news agenda including issues and sensitivities in the specific territory.

  • Ability to measure and track regional performance based on agreed metrics.

  • Extensive experience of working on communications campaigns, with demonstrated measurable success.
