As the Senior Accountant - VAT Expert you will be supporting and guiding the Accounting team to ensure all VAT related transactions are accounted, booked and recovered properly.

You will be responsible of the following:

• Ensure all non-recoverable VAT are accounted as part of expense
• Review all invoice and guide the team in getting the accounting and booking for VAT right
• Support and ensure all input VAT are recovered
• Support in getting the VAT returns accurate for input VAT
• Preparation of VAT related reports
• Ensure all VAT accounts are reconciled on monthly basis
• Support the VAT implementation team in getting the required manual set up done and subsequent ERP implementation for VAT
• build VAT capabilities in AP function and train them and develop so all AP staff are capable of booking invoices independently
• Any other tasks related to VAT
• Provide clarifications to queries from Tax Authority
• Coordinate with internal team related to VAT
• Automate VAT related process
• Ensure internal controls relating to VAT are complied with and support internal and external audit teams with their information requirements
• Any other tasks assigned by Head of Financial Accounting

You should have a minimum of 8  years’ accounting experience in a large organization of which at least 2 years with VAT related experience with a bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance/CAT/AAT.
