Contractor– Data Quality is responsible for the Analysis, Design & Implementation of Data Quality frameworks Teradata DWH, and the integration of DWH with source systems. Contractor– Data Quality has to ensure data integrity and data quality in DWH. Analyse applications and data quality and integration problems, provide solutions and recommend corrective actions. Contractor– Data Quality also should creat data quality dashboards for the operations team and end users to monitor the important KPI’s on daily basis and provide early alerts and indications about any data discrepancies.
Requirement Analysis:
Ensure detailed analysis of business requirements to ensure the most appropriate technical design approach for supporting those requirements
Conduct thorough data analysis of information and research data sources and make any corrections to existing data as needed to ensure accuracy of the information being recorded.
Analyze existing systems, design and create a data qulaity solution suitable for that specific system.
Generate Reports - consistently provide reports regarding the progress of a data quality KPI's.
Design & Development/Operations:
Analyzing/Interpreting data details and accuracy – ensuring that the data being converted is viable and accurate.
Evaluating existing databases and systems – must verify that systems are able to integrate and store data with higher accuracy and quality.
Overseeing data mapping processes – managing the entire data conversion process.
Creating custom solutions – Data Specialists should be prepared to customize databases and software to meet data storage needs.
Provide Technical Support and Assistance - Once a conversion project is complete, a Data Specialist usually trains a client in the use of the database or software system.
Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems, data cleansing, data quality monitoring/alerting and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Filter and “clean” data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems.
Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
Create technical design documents detailing appropriate specifications related to projects.
Review technical design documents created by other team members to ensure consistency in design principles, and compliance to the overall ETL methodology.
Ensure adherence of data-refresh and data quality processes for the DWH to pre-defined SLAs through effective monitoring and constant improvement of the DWH ETL environment.
Monitor and proactively address / escalate any data quality / data integrity issues, and provide recommendations to resolve such issues in the future.
Provide daily/weekly reports to the section head, with regards to ongoing tasks and projects.
Project Coordination:
Follow-up on on-going projects and provide enhancement methods on existing systems.
Review project plans.
Quality assure plans and produced documents.
Team work:
Ensure timely delivery of all projects through effective team work.
Understanding of Data Warehouse concepts, tools and repositories and transfer the knowledge to any team member if requested by management and team.
Bachelor degree in computer science or information systems.
Required Experience and Knowledge to be able to do the job:
Preferred 10+ years of experience in a similar environment .
Expert in data modelling and data ingestion / ETL.
Thorough understanding of relational database management systems and SQL.
Working knowledge of Unix/Windows operating systems and writing for shell scrip's and batch scripts.
Proven working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst. Must have excellent skills in requirements analysis, data assessment, business process reengineering, and fully familiarity with data warehousing design concepts such as 3rd Normal Form and Dimensional modeling.
Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Microstrategy etc), databases (Teradata, Oracle, SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks), ETL Tools (Informatica, Teradata SLJM, SQL Scripts, etc).
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel etc).
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings.
MS Office proficiency.
Fluent in written and spoken English or Arabic.
