ROLE & CONTEXT:

Purpose:

Provide technical expertise in the area of RAN  Design, Performance & Optimization.

The existing and planned scope of work includes:

  • RNC & RAN feature introduction
  • Capacity planning & Forecasting
  • Performance KPI Reports
  • Traffic analysis & Network performance
  • Introduce RNC Trace based Optimization
  • Project /SLA Management

 

Context/ Background:

This role focuses on RAN Performance & Optimization.

The role candidate will be responsible for coordinating with technical suppliers/vendors for RNC feature introduction KPI reports generation, performance analysis, summary presentations & driving RAN improvements & solutions with suppliers. ie NSN & ZTE.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Ensure RAN Performance KPI are produced with correct and agreed targets/SLA with vendors
  • Strong coordination with suppliers for timely performance reports generation purpose
  • Should be able to analyse reports & summarise conclusions in pro-active manner
  • Conduct analysis of network performance reports and traffic patterns to evaluate real time network capacity and propose capacity enhancements, as & when required
  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies for new products and services and produce feasibility report
  • Produce Functional and Technical Specification documents for new products and services
  • Participate in cross functional meetings with key stakeholders involved in the development and deployment of network services in order to define best solutions for existing , as well as new products and services

  • Establish and manage multiple cross-functional relationships, coordinate and open communication channels with other departments
  • Good communication and negotiations skills within Ooredoo and outside with vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and follow professional code of conduct & compliance rules
  • Provide input in tender/RFP and vendor evaluation/selection

Decision Making

  • Provide Inputs & suggestions/ideas to Manager-RAN Engineering, for him/her to take decision for major/critical issues
  • Takes decisions for non-critical activities and routine tasks within department on day-to-day basis

 

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI):
  • Timely publication of performance reports and proactively improve KPI definitions
  • Over longer term introduce automation with the Performance Management process
  • Accurate analysis & summary from Performance reports
  • Ownership of improvement actions, based on summary of Performance reports
  • Audit Reports & compliance
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge

  • 5-10 years’ experience in telecommunications
  • 5 years of experience in RAN
  • At least 2-3 years hands on experience in MS Office, specially MS Excel & MS PowerPoint
  • Good understanding of Telecommunications business & global and local telecom scenario

 

Minimum Entry Qualifications

  • Bachelor Engineering degree in Electronics / Telecommunications Engineering
  • MS/MSc is an advantage

 

SKILLS

Technical & General

  • Good knowledge for 3GPP specifications and Mobile Networks
  • Good knowledge and experience with MS Office & Applications
  • Macro, Scripting, programming skills would be an advantage
  • Strong Ability to analyse and diagnose performance issues from reports
  • Pro-active, team player & keen to learn
  • Basic knowledge in identifying and developing Systems Requirements and Systems Specifications
  • Good written & spoken English ability
