ROLE & CONTEXT:
 

Purpose:

Consolidate all activities related to all data centres country wide.

Supervise all vendor activities ( implementation and maintenance ) within the data centres

 

Context :

Managing Data Centre MS Vendor performance to make sure of the quality service is delivered with standards and in respect of all.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Overview

  • Data Centre Management of all hosted platform , including MSC, RNC, VAS, IT and other applications for cost effective operations.
  • Ensure Preventive, Predictive, Corrective and Breakdown maintenance of all Electrical and Power utilities equipment used in Network & IT Operations in Data Centre
  • Planning, requisitioning and accounting of spares required for Data Centre maintenance.
  • Periodic review of Managed Service Contractors and vendors for operations and maintenance for ensuring SLAs, Uptime, MTTR, MTBF and adherence of desired Quality standard.
  • Should be able to analyze incident reports & summaries conclusions in pro-active manner.
  • Conduct analysis of maintenance reports and outage patterns to evaluate data centre facility status and propose capacity enhancements , as & when required
  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies for new products and services and produce feasibility report.
  • Participate in cross functional meetings with key stakeholders involved in the development and deployment of network services in order to define best solutions for existing , as well as new products and services.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge:

  • 5+ Years’ of experience of Data Centre Operations & Management in a renowned Organisation. Telecom operator experience preferred
  •  Goodwritten and analytical reporting skill
  • Strong Ability to analyse and diagnose performance issues from Reports
  • Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
  • Hands on experience on all Electrical and Power utilities being used in a typical Data Centre environment like Power Transformers, breakers,  Battery Banks, UPS , Air-Conditioners , Diesel Generator sets , Fire alarm systems, SPD’s , etc
  • Good knowledge of telecom network infrastructure setup & operations, including Core, RAN & Transmission Network.
  • Should possess essential Networking skills to fully understand networking between Data Centres from monitoring point of view.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial
  • Good DCIM knowledge

 

Minimum Entry Qualifications


  • BSc/Engineering degree in Electrical/Electronic or higher
  • CCNA preferred  

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
  • Ensuring KPI availability of the Data Centre
  • Ensuring restoration of critical network outages within 1 business hours
  • Ensuring delivery & SLA adherence from contractors.
  • Ownership of improvement actions for Data Centre Operations
  • Audit Reports & compliance
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to :  

Service Centre Senior  Manager

Interacts with:

 Incident Managers, Facility Managers, Change Mangers and IT and Network Planning Managers.  Data Centre Managed Services organisation national and regional.  OML Regional Mangers
