The Purpose:

The digital marketing oversees the Digital Services, VAS & Content Strategy for the company, developing, implementing, tracking and optimizing our digital marketing activities across all digital channels. In addition to creating a strategy to better monetize our current content and data offering, working on new product developments to enhance our digital offering across all segments of our target market.  In addition to planning and managing the development life cycle activities of all new products and services from the concept stage to technical and commercial readiness in accordance with the relevant product development criteria. Also, managing the strategic partners (Google, Apple, Amazon, Netflix Etc.); planning and managing the testing of commercial products and ensuring the launch of issue free services.

  • Write the briefs and manage the development of content which represented on the company’s various portals and vas applications. 

  • Manage and control A2P SMS and Anti-spam messages reached Ooredoo network.

  • Responsible of Revenue, Cost, P&L for content services.

  • Managing revenues in excess of 12mn KD per annum and 300 plus partners

Key Activities & Responsibilities:
  •  Devise a full entertainment strategy to achieve ambitious year on year growth in the VAS area.
  • Work on further monetizing our VAS offering work with the relevant parties on delivering a converged (voice/ data/ entertainment).

  • Planning and budgetary control of all VAS services.

  • Review new technologies and initiates (MFS, Mobile Advertising, DCB, Ooredoo TV, ETC) to keep the company at the forefront of developments in digital marketing

  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.

  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests.

  • Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points

  • Collaborate with agencies and other vendor partners.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies; provide thought leader and perspective for adoption where appropriate

  • Coordinate with Ooredoo group for implementation of new products.

  • Owner of commercial requirements for new propositions

  • Engage in cross-functional teamwork to build new products.

  • Review the business cases prepared by vendors and Strategy Marketing, for new products including the plan to deliver the required products or services within constraints such as time, cost, business case, and quality standards.

  • Conduct Marketing planning and budgeting exercises with the ability to understand complex financial information.

  • In charge of budgeting & planning the CAPEX and OPEX of the products included in the roadmap.

  • Understanding and good knowledge of MFS (Mobile Financial Service) products

  • , business modelling, current trends, market dynamics and customer needs.

  • Evaluate and recommend systems to improve services and customer experience.

  • Manage all new large systems being purchased by Ooredoo and ensuring complete requirements and customer experience is taken care of in the integration.

  • Manage post launch analysis of products

  • Manage and plan all access channels for visibility and promotion of products.

  • Plan and manage the development of the new products with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure that they meet the following criteria:

  • Able to generate revenue

  • Have a positive impact on the Company Brand

  • Improve the customer experience

  • Launch of issue free service

     

  • Owner of commercial requirements for new propositions, engage in cross-functional teamwork to build new products.

  • Undertake a SWOT analysis for managing potential and actual impacts / risks, taking corrective action and or

  • handling day-to-day issues

  • Review the risks impacts on the overall scope of the development, scheduling, and end user experience.

  • Manage functional testing of commercial projects from Idea phase to Go live in projects and releases

  • Plan, design, control and report status of UAT and FUT.

  • Oversee the RFPs (Request for Proposal), RFQs (Request for Quotation) and participate in the final recommendation for all new projects.

  • Ensure closure of all deals and contracts at higher revenue share and margin.

  • Identify the positives and negative impacts/risks associated to new products and services concerning present and future challenges in the business.

  • Lead and manage testing activities of all new products and services prior to launch.

  • Manage discussions with technical teams for requirements related to new products, access channels

  • Identify infotainment trends for content & VAS development

  • Negotiate with content suppliers from start to finish (i.e. identifying new suppliers, choosing content, finalising contracts etc).

  • Implement content and VAS through liaison with Product Marketing, Technology, Operations, etc teams for this purpose as required.

  • Co-ordinate the completion and the delivery of new product or service projects including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities across functions, monitoring, and documenting the progress of the project.

  • Monitor on-going Product Development progress in terms of plans versus actual.

  • Predetermine, document and communicate to stakeholders any deviations from the agreed, upon Product Development delivery plan.

  • Partner with Marketing, Product Marketing, Customer Care, Training, PMO, Technology, TPMO, Finance and Sales to evaluate, plan, coordinate, train on and deliver new profitable services up to commercial launch stage.

  • Work closely with the Ooredoo group team on development of group level products or a common product roadmap.

  • Assisting in budget exercise to commercial department

  • Assist in improving fast to market product development process

  • Control and optimize the testing processes within organization

  • Actively cooperate with test participants and stakeholders both within the company as well as the ones located at vendor’s side.

  • Work with segment team to bundle the VAS service with core service

  • Oversee research on innovative services and business opportunities to support new revenue streams and growth opportunities

  • Drive creation and regular revision of testing methodology

  • Review the development of innovative service concepts to enhance the Company’s reach

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external parties to understand customer needs of the end users to develop and deliver new related products and services

  • Stay informed of latest international developments in telecom / GSM and telecommunication services in general to possibly benefit the Company

  • Attend training courses, seminars, conferences, vendor meetings, presentations and weekly meetings, as needed, to stay fully informed with the latest cutting-edge business ideas 

  • Proactively manage and motivate the team; Provide guidance and support
  • Work to improve employee performance through personal coaching and identifying training and development needs.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals (Performance Management System) and ensure objectives set are monitored and achieved.
  • Manage the MFS to ensure MFS reaches its strategic goals and growth.

  • Lead the formulation of the MFS strategy in line with the overreaching business goals and ensure that the brand maintains and improves its position.

  • Ensure effective implementation of the strategy by means of providing direction, structure, framework, models, plans & roadmaps to be adopted

  • Oversee the definition of processes for the business unit

  • Ensure contracts are managed and adhered to Proactively take responsibility for self-improvement by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.

  • Other duties as reporting directed by the CMO or other superiors.

Other Requirements:
  • 8-9 required years of experience based on progression ladder in a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of the telecom sector specifically related to content management
  • Degree in either Business Management, MIS, Digital Marketing, engineering or equivalent skills are required.
  • Project Management Certification is a plus.Strong Analytical skills
