As the Department Head - Risk Management responsible for managing the company’s risks exposure to loss of or damage to the company’s assets and staff by focusing on risk identification and specifically on the identification, assessment, and recommendation of the most cost effective treatment for potential loss exposures.

Core Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of the following:

  • Establish risk management governance by developing risk policy procedures and GRC system within the Company

     

  • Create risk archiving process and gain approved from EXCO
  • Works with the senior management within Ooredoo to develop and implement risk policy and procedure

  • Work closely with All departments in order to Identify key risks within the operational Processes and procedures within the departments to include risks related to Data, new projects and strategic initiatives

  • Iidentify, prioritize and manage the risks involved in the activities of Ooredoo-Oman’ business

  • Enforce in identifying KRIs that links to strategic risks and Set threshold and tolerance for KRIs

  • Take appropriate and timely measures to assess the likelihood and potential impact of risks, KRIs and the associated impact on the achievement of objectives

  • Assess the impact in depth and provide justification by justifying financial impacts provided by the risk owner, this is done by the calculated risk methodology that required judgment call after analysis

  • Decide on and implement the appropriate risk response by using one or combination of (share, Transfer, avoid, accept) methodology to the assessed risk or KRIs

  • Setting mitigations and controls for each risks and providing justification of its completion

  • Categorize risks as per risk category

  • Set up the ERM council

  • Ensure that that board of directors determines risk appetite in a competitive and regulated Telco environment.

  • Present Risk Appetite to the management as required by the board or OG

  • Prepare Risk Maturity plan on a yearly basis by assessing risks based on key risk attributes and get CEO approvals

  • Present Risk Maturity Plan for OG and EXCO approval

  • Proactively manage risks to business assets, including staff, financial and other resources
  • Prepare quarterly and annually risk report

  • Present to EXCO and IA the ERM report on quarterly basis

  • Advises stake holders in designing risk management programs within their own departments.

  • Attends workshop with Chief Risk Officer in OG in maintaining the maturity level of the ERM governance

  • Educate and trains the management and staff on the risk management program, and their respective responsibilities in the risk mitigation and management

  • Create Risk Charter for executive, champions and directors in monitoring risks on a quarterly base

  • Participate with monthly management meeting and provide monthly update on risks

  • Shall manage a consolidated risk register

  • Monitor and evaluate the risks outcomes

  • Create a workshop on ERM for risk champions twice a year

  • Enforce Risks Champion in adding their respective risk in their KPIs
  • Manage and control the budget for the RM  System

  • Manage the execution of all projects within the allocated budget

  • Manage cost optimization initiatives

The Person:

You should have a minimum of 10+  years in a similar function with responsibilities for Risks Management in IT/telecoms environment, strong expertise, strong expertise in defining scope of cover and managing claims, strong knowledge of Enterprise risk Management from development to implementation, significant experience of risk matrix population and dissemination, experience of risk reporting and risk mitigation, good experience in implementing ERM within an organisation of similar size, fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic, MS\Office proficiency with a university degree in IT/Engineering/HSE, commercial/financial field or equivalent.
