VAC7110 - Senior Accountant- Account Receivable (Omani or GCC Nationals)

As the Senior Accountant- Account Receivable  you will be responsible for accounting revenue and cost of sales timely and accurately, sufficiently substantiated and reconciled and responsible for ensuring all data are sourced into and out of the ERP are aligned with IAS/ IFRS and management reporting.

Core Responsibilities:

You will be responsible of accounting of revenues, receivables, cost of sales, operating expenses, and relevant accruals, provisions, cross-charges and re-classes. compliance with IAS / IFRS and implement necessary changes and new developments required in IT systems, business processes, accounting policies and accounting procedures, alignment with management reporting, preparing / updating accounting policies and procedures and align with group, internal audit, external audit and other stakeholders, preparing monthly reconciliations and set priorities and action plans to resolve differences with focus on speed and financial impact, managing all systems and interfaces used by the department with respect to closing periods, opening periods, mapping to GL, stability, fixing issues and requesting development for improvements, responding to queries from other departments for explanations, guidance and work jointly to fix any issue or implement changes and supplying documentation for internal Audit based on requests.

The Person:

You should have a minimum of  4 years plus with exposure to financial accounting in a large organisation, with a bachelor degree or partially completed ACCA.

Skills Required:
  • Through IAS / IFRS knowledge, in particular relating to revenue
  • Ability to apply revenue IAS / IFRS standards to define accounting treatments and IT reporting requirements

  • Through knowledge of fundamental accounting concepts and able to apply it (Examples: accrual, deferral, provisions, write-off, ....)

  • Strong in applying problem solving techniques to resolve complex reconciliation differences

  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Good written and spoken Arabic would be an advantage
